I am looking for a broad based broker!?

I would appreciate any advice on finding a brokerage firm that offers trading in MANY DIFFERENT markets ie.(Forex, Futures, Indexes, Stocks). I have looked online and could’nt find any. Does anyone know of one?

Houston Rockets Starting Lineup: Billups, Hamilton, Artest, Scola and Yao.
Detroit Pistons Starting Lineup: Alston, Mcgrady, Prince, Wallace, Mcdyess
Would it work?

What is Futures Trading?

What exactly is it? Examples please? It is not stocks, right?
How do you trade?
Thank you.

Best Futures Trading Software?

I’m an electronic/pit commodity futures trader with volume being 90/10, respectively. I trade a mix of technical and fundamental, with reasons for trades being based on fundamental and backed up with technical.

I’ve been looking at software, and am almost scared to try anything other than Tradestation 8. Is there anything out there that is better at utilizing market data and testing strategies?

I don’t expect to trade through Tradestation, instead I usually trade on the ladders through CQG. I use CQG trader basically because most people do, and it seems to be the quickest. I’ve also been told about Cunningham Trading Systems, but their website doesn’t give me much info about how their product…

So, can anyone give me a good idea of what software is the most nimble, understandable, worth it, and smart with new meaningful extras that put it in a class by itself?

Is tradestation really the best? There’s so much software out there, and tradestation seems to overshadow everyone else with marketing.

Professionals only please.
Reminder: I will be trading primarily commodity futures. I’m in love with think or swim’s design, but not ‘how technical their charts go’, and ability to personalize. Don’t get me wrong, if I was trading equity options, I would likely be all over it. Espeicially the CNBC tab, how cool? I called think or swim, and they don’t even cover two of the obscure domestic markets I specialize in. They’re really not up on their futures game.

Broker, Realtor, and Client Conflict?

My wife went to an open house the other Sunday and fell in love with a house. A couple of days later I found out that the house was listed by the agent of a broker that I wanted to represent us in any future real estate deals. The broker wants to represent us in this deal even though one of her agents lists it. We have not signed anything with anyone and there are no grounds in out state to legally hold us to their representation. Should I let this broker represent me or find a Realtor from another firm? The broker has a stellar reputation in the local real estate industry.

I know that in futures, we should have our money in the brokerage account as said in initial margin requirements for buying particular futures contract…..Then there will be specifications for the contract like contract size, tick size….Based on the Contract size and our betting will move…..If our bet was wrong then we will be losing money and once it reached the maintenance marigin , we get the marigin call to add funds to rebound to initial marigin……This is how futures work …correct?

1.Now, what is the dfference between currency futures and trading currency ?Does trading currency ordinarily involves same like initial marigin amount, contract size and maintenance marigin?

2.Now, does hedging in future contract does not have marigin requirements?Like Buy USD/AUD & Sell USD/AUD in two different trades? If yes, does hedging in all futures ( currency, index, interest ratesetc…) dont have marigin requirements?

Thank you .

I need some help with ETF?

I’ve been looking at UNG (united states natural gas etf). There is lots of talk about how the net asset value (nav) has premium, and there is lots of contango within the stock.

Can someone explain how these three things work together. I understand that having alot of contango means that there is alot of supply on the market. I can see from the nymex reports that there is alot of supply on the market. But i don’t understand why contango will effect the etf if the spot price goes up.

I may be trying to play with securities i don’t full grasp, and that’s ok. I’m just paper trading this etf right now as a learning tool. But some additional help would be very helpful.

Commodities broker?

How can I become a Commodities broker, where can I get the training & education so I know all about Futures and Options to be a sucessful broker?

I am a complete Novice in the trading business/market. I don’t even know the abs’s of trading. I would greatly appreciate some knowledge and advice. How and where do I begin? Any good books and website suggested? Thank you all in advance.

I heard that exchange-traded derivatives like Futures and Options are traded with a set number in each contract, meaning every options or future contract, you can buy a quantity of 100, no more and no less.

How come stocks and bonds are not the same way? How come there is no pre-set limit to how many you can buy once entering a contract?

PLEASE HELP!!!
